Do you know Horie Kenichi??

He is an 83-year-old Japanese sea adventurer and a yacht man.

In 1962 Horie completed the world’s first successful solo nonstop voyage across the Pacific Ocean on a sailboat.

60年前23歳の時、彼は世界で初めて、ヨットで、単独無寄港、日本からアメリカへの太平洋横断を成功させました

In the voyage, he crossed the Pacific from Nishinomiya to San Francisco.

あれから60年。　先月、3月26日に今度は逆のルートで、サンフランシスコから西宮を目指して出港しました

83歳で、単独無寄港、太平洋横断、ヨットの旅です

After 60 years, on March 26 he set out from San Francisco to Nishinomiya on a yacht.

If he succeeds, he will be the oldest person to complete a solo nonstop voyage across the Pacific on a yacht.

It is expected to take two and a half months.

日本までおよそ8500km  6月上旬、兵庫県の西宮に到着予定です

I hope he will arrive Nishinomiya in safe.
