Japan’s new bank notes

July 3rd!! いよいよですね　新札発行！

楽しみですね！

“Japan is changing the design of its paper currency for the first time in 20 years.

Three new banknotes will go into circulation on July 3. ”  (NHK World Japan)

“This is to prevent forgeries that lead to counterfeit money being printed and spreading into the country’s money supply. “  (the Japan times alpha)

新紙幣発行は偽札を作られないようにするためなんですね

“To deter counterfeiters, the new bills will feature three-dimensional holograms, the first on any currency in the world.”  (The Asahi Shimbun)

お札を左右に傾けると、ホログラムの肖像が動いてみえる技術や、高度なすかし入れなど、偽造防止のために新紙幣には最先端の技術がつまっているんですね

さて、新紙幣に選ばれた三人とは？

“The face of the 10,000-yen note is Shibusawa Eiichi, known as the father of Japan’s modern economy.” (NHK world Japan)

“The 5,000-yen note features Tsuda Umeko, the first Japanese woman to study abroad, and a pioneer of Japanese education.”  (NHK world Japan)

“The 1,000-yen note has Kitasato Shibasaburo, a bacteriologist who developed a treatment for tetanus.”  (NHK world Japan)

“All three of these inspiring figures were global citizens who used their international experiences to contribute to the modernization of Japan.”  (the Japan times alpha)

実業家である渋沢栄一氏は、若い頃ヨーロッパを視察

教育家である津田梅子氏は、7歳のとき、日本初の女子留学生としてアメリカに渡り、

医師である北里柴三郎氏は、ドイツ留学をされ

それぞれが海外での経験を生かし、日本の近代化に貢献しました

 

日本だけでなく、外の世界で、様々な人と出会い、学び、経験し、たくさんの情報を手にする

英語はそれを可能にしてくれます🙌🏻
